Sandra Scher’s ads have not only won pitches and created controversy on the nightly news, but a poster of hers enjoyed a recurring role on The Sopranos.

A Brooklyn-based ACD and Sr Art Director with many years of experience at award winning advertising agencies, Sandra Scher’s ads have not only won pitches and created controversy on the nightly news, but a poster of hers enjoyed a recurring role on The Sopranos.

Starting out as a freelancer at the legendary Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Sandra has since worked for shops of all sizes — notably Ogilvy, JWT, Lowe and Deutsch — across a wide range of clients including Toyota, GM, IBM, Sharp Electronics, Macy’s, Crunch Gym, PNC Bank, Yellowtail Wine, Johnnie Walker and Nickelodeon. She’s also taken on projects for several not-for-profits including PETA, The Anti-Defamation League, Catalyst, The Wimbledon Synagogue and the Ad Council and profiled in both Creative Review and The One Club’s magazine.

After a decade in the ad business, Sandra took a break to start a family. During this time, she taught advertising and design courses at New York University, the Art Institute of New York and the graduate program at CUNY City College, Branding + Integrated Communications, whilst learning intaglio printmaking, renovating a 19th century historic house and moving to London and back! She even managed to fit in some advertising and branding projects for clients in both London and New York!

Sandra is now back to freelancing for ad agencies. When not squinting at her computer, you’ll find her enjoying gardening, printmaking or doing a shift at the Park Slope Food Coop.
