What is VisibleStart?

Visible Start is the first step to a whole new career or the restart of your fabulous ad career.

Over 8 weeks of online video tutorials and virtual events, we’ll introduce you to advertising, teach you the basics of marketing, media and agency roles and identify the transferable skills you have that the industry needs in abundance. We’ll build your confidence, build your network, create a community. Visibility has to start somewhere. Let’s start it together.

Who is it aimed at?

The course is for women aged 45 and over. We’re looking for women from all backgrounds and all walks of life.

Do I need any previous experience to join the course?

The answer is no! In fact, quite the opposite. We train women from the best school of all – Life!

When will I know if I’ve got a place on the course?

Your registration confirms your place on the course (congratulations!). Make sure you join our Visible Society to stay connected.

How long will it take?

Around 8 weeks from start to finish.

What will it involve?

A combination of virtual events on topics like transferable skills and confidence building – alongside online video tutorials covering lots of different topics about the media industry. We expect there to be around 3-4 hours learning each week.

Can I do the course around other commitments?

Yes, absolutely. You’ll be able to dip into the online video tutorials whenever you get a spare moment and we’ll be running lots of virtual events so you’ll be able to ‘Zoom’ in to suit your schedule. The course is flexible, because we understand you have commitments, and accessible, because inclusivity matters.

Is there a job at the end of the course?

There are real jobs waiting from entry level to senior management in all areas of advertising from finance and HR to sales, digital media and creative.

Is it virtual or in person?

The course is all virtual on Zoom so you can join us from anywhere in the UK.
